Mary Lou Zielinski

The Colored Pencil is my primary means of expression. It enables me to exercise the precise control necessary to portray the uniqueness, magic, and complexity of nature. I occasionally combine Colored Pencil with other media to boost colors and range of values. My style is soft and extremely detailed -like watercolor, pastels, and graphite combined -to tantalize the eye and touch the soul.

I have spent the past six years devouring Oregon Birds, since they are so much a part of my environment.. Nature, with all its myriad of organisms, has always been my prime interest, with animal portraits, floral sculptures, and historical architecture keeping my creative fires burning.
